Our Story
Started with a torch, some towels, and no plan.
Ujala Foundation started in 2018 in Jaipur's Lohawat area. Our founder found a litter of puppies in a drain after heavy rains both the mother and pups were injured. There were no rescue services. No one came.
So she called her friends. They came with towels, a torch, and no plan. That was the first rescue.
Six years later, we have a team of 12 people, two rescue vehicles, a partner veterinary clinic, and a foster family network across Rajasthan and beyond. We never planned to grow this big. The animals kept coming.

What We Stand For
Our Values
Seva First
Care before paperwork. An animal in pain cannot wait for forms.
Radical Transparency
All our expenses are published every quarter. No surprises. Ever.
No Kill, No Abandon
Once an animal comes to us, we never give up on them.
Community, Not Charity
We build local networks of people who care. We don't want dependency. We want a movement.
Meet Mitthu
She just had to find her way home.
Mitthu was found in a drain in Jaipur's old city during the monsoon. She was two weeks old. Her eyes were not yet open.
A shopkeeper called us. He had been watching her for three days. Waiting. Hoping someone would come.
Today, Mitthu sits on a window ledge in Malviya Nagar. She belongs to a family of three. Their son is eight. He says she was always his cat. She just had to find her way home.
