They Ate Yesterday. We Don't Know About Today.
Every morning, our team feeds hundreds of stray dogs across the city. But our food supplies are running out. Without your help, bowls will be empty by next week.
There is a dog near a busy street crossing in our city. He has been there for three years. Every morning, one of our volunteers brings him food. He waits. He knows the time. He knows the sound of her footsteps.
Last Tuesday, she could not come. We had run out of food.
He waited for four hours.
This is not one dog. This is happening across our city at street corners, outside temples, under flyovers, near school gates. Hundreds of stray dogs who depend on our daily feeding rounds for their only meal of the day.
Why This Cannot Wait
Stray dogs do not beg by choice. They survive by routine. When that routine breaks when the food does not come they go hungry for days. A hungry dog is a desperate dog. Desperation leads to conflict with people, with other animals. It leads to illness. It leads to death.
Our daily feeding programme currently covers 14 feeding points across the city. Each round requires food, transport, and a volunteer's time. Right now, our food stock will last 7 more days.
After that, we stop. And they go hungry.
